So..a peep back in the past !..this time 53 years for this extract featuring "...from the movie "..Boy, the dialogue in this is so "Squeeky Clean that even the most "P.C" lunatic could not find fault !! when i was fifteen i followed ted and his band wherever i could and purchased a record every week untill i went into the army to do my national service in germany while i was away my mother gave i my records away couldnt belive it wonder full music

When Ted passed on I was privelaged to meet some of his band who played for the Radio Brighton Big Band. They used to rehearse on a wednesday evening in a hotel close to where I live.

Thanks for this and all your postings. What memories. Ronnie was a great "mentor' to many high school drummers here in Australia, even though none had even met him. What a fantastic era when shows like This is Tom jones, or Englebert Humperdinck, (just to name two) were on TV here. We could not wait to watch Ronnie each week with the Jack Parnell Orchestra. He left us way too soon, and I regret never being able to go to the UK when he was playing. I hope to meet Jack Parnell later this year.

".  . . and never once does his fingers leave his hands." I think that's a line from his days with Ted Heath when he and Johnny Hawksworth were both soloing and commenting on each's performance. Ronnie put the "show" back in show band. I don't think anyone is not having fun here.

I have many happy memories of this great drummer who was part of a very very great big band, and saw them in action many many times and they have all left many happy memories
