My first attempt at BEAM robotics a while back...
Two geared motors controlled by a configurable Nv-net (bi-core/quad-core/hex-core/master-slave). The frame was built using Lego Technic parts. I had plans to put an Arduino "brain" on top of the Nv-net, but never got around to it (maybe this year?). The circuit board, batteries, and the technic parts were too heavy, and the motor too slow...oh well.
