Our Chow Chow dog's eyelids were scratching his eyes, so we had him examined by an animal eye care specialist who recommended surgery. First we made sure his heart could handle general anesthesia so he received an EKG from his regular vet and a clean bill of health. Then he got a doggy face lift! His face was drooping and his eyelids were scratching his eyes so the cure was to remove the excess droopy eyelid and and move the skin up. this is a common condition in chow chows as they age.

He is a retired therapy dog who put in 5 years of hospital therapy dog volunteer work, so he deserves a happy, pain-free retirement.

i have a chow chow and she is a rough cinnamon she had the eye problem to but the one that makes them have 2 were a glass eye but she doesnt need one!

Really - that's interesting to read about the eyelids....you just never know what there is to know about pets! Hope he is fine now!
