  • to make a correction ::: if u interest to know how the Greek science to Arabs and then to Europe i think u should read this book aina.org/books/hgsptta.pdf

  • @shanecle As you say, Aristotle was Greek, but his work was often more available by translation into Arabic rather than Latin because his thoughts were often considered dangerous heresy by Church authorities (even as late as the 13th Century) and suppressed. Western interface with Islamic Spain, with its invited translators from Constantinople, and philosophers such as Avicena, Avaroes Maimonides, etc, allowed more freedom of ideas.

  • The BBC can be tendentious in presenting history, and one wonders at what may have motivated the makers of this programme. Compare Adrian Pennink's effort with, for example, "The Israel Palestine Conflict" uploaded by Capuchin.

  • What are you talking about? I'm not saying "hail the arabs, they saved the world" - YOU were saying they contributed nothing, which just isn't true seeing as they sorted us out with philosophy, and from there we developed our idealogy to the point where we conquered the world. Also they invented batteries, rockets, shampoo, carpets, distillation, water purification, ethanol, confectionary, restaurants, kerosene/petrol, ventilation, municipal litter collection, underfloor heating...I could go on

  • So, according to you, they didn't invent Aristotles philosophy, but they "delivered" it to the United Kingdom in the middle ages??.... and this is something for Arabs should be proud of and made a massive difference in developing the world as a whole???

  • I meant Arabic traders introduced the works of Aristotle to the UK in the middle ages

  • "The white european thing had the nicest climate & therefore the most food, so they had more time to study & innovate. "

    - so you admit we are better??

The British empire civilised the world, and Nuclear power is a renewable source of energy.

  • Japan is fully developed, Many parts of China are still poor (hence the number of people still dying mining for coal every year), however China is developing fast.

Aristotle is NOT ARABIC!! nor did he live in the middle ages, ARISTOTLE is an ancient GREEK philosopher- Wikipedia his name!!
