Jupiter

I imaged about 52000 frames of Jupiter from the Sagar School Celestron 14inch telescope, this wednesday. The duration of the captures was 66minutes (making the frame rate of 13 frames per second). During this 66 minutes the Great Red Spot transited.
Using these imaged bmps I set about finding the particular frame in which the GRS was transiting. I found that it is not an easy task to one particular frame which could be marked as the transit of GRS, the shape of GRS not being exactly circular did not help too. Well I decided to take one particular frame in the middle of 500, all of which looked as if the GRS was in transit. Looked at the file creation time - 14:14:27 UT.
Next I used two software to determine the longitude facing Earth at that time.
MICA gave a longitude of 174.27° (Multiyear Interactive Computer Almanac by USNO, paid software)
WinJupos gave a longitude of 173.8° (Winjupos is a free downloadable software)
(the difference may be because of geocentric and location dependent values)
Well, I was able to plug in a value of 174° as the current longitude of GRS, in the planetarium software Starry Night for further future references :)
