Hybrid pvc flute composed by six interchangeable pieces: 5 different headjoints and a body with fingerholes. Depending on how we are deciding to compose them, we could obtain:

- a C recorder
- a C quena with 8 fingerholes
- a B bansuri with 8 fingerholes
- an E bulgarian kaval - persian ney
- an harmonic flute with multiple embouchures (tilinko/kalyuka, konkovca, and so on)

Six intruments in one! Also, combining these flutes we can obtain very odd musical intruments never seen before. The only limit in making these intruments is our own imagination.

Flauto ibrido, composto di 6 pezzi intercambiabili tra loro: cinque testate diverse ed un corpo coi fori. A seconda dei pezzi di cui decideremo di comporlo, di volta in volta, potremo ottenere:
-un flauto dolce soprano in DO

  • I went to one of your sites but I can't read Italian. I would like to buy one of your six in one flutes and I was wondering how much they cost. Very cool!! I also love your Didge playing....very accurate, well controlled and articulated....Bravo!

  • @templeofpan : Thanks for your interest and your compliments. :-)

I'm sorry about the only italian site... But I made that all one time in 9 hours. I needed that to present an exhibition in Vicenza. I was planning to translate it in English, but I was lazy. :D I'm answering you privately about the flute.

  • How'd you figure out where to place the finger holes so that they would work for all of those?

  • @coyotecrow4 : I studied some pfysics of pipes and wind instruments.

  • @furrytummy Thanks! That answers my question about multiple mouthpieces! I'd planned on making a combination transverse flute and shakuhachi for a friend, and needed to know how to swap those parts!

  • @steamboat28 : To make pvc joints just heat with a heater gun or with a flame (in this case must take care of not burning it, otherwise you'll deliver dioxin into the atmosphere, and maybe into you lungs) until it's soft, than insert it into the other pipe and wait some seconds: when it's cold again it's back hard. To better understand look at this tutorial: h t t p : / / w w w . ggwhistles . c o m / howto / index . h t m l

  • @furrytummy I'm interested in learning how you handled this. I would like something similar, only without as many parts (just the different mouthpieces). I did not find a lot more information on your blog, but I'm very curious!

  • Bol...sei genialmente folgorato vecio mio!grande!

  • @pacitom : Mh... Is this turkish. I'm sorry, but I can't undestrand. :-)

  • yaraqımsı olmuş...
