This Train Yard is located in Ste. Genevieve Missouri. MP 63.9
The Train Yard is full of lime incrested hoppers that serve the Local Mississippi Lime Kiln in the town. I'm not sure what their operations plans where that night. I do know they were arranging the cars to the designated tracks and setting up empties on the siding at the production and terminal facility that is located right off the Mississippi River that fills the barges.

  • woops didn't mean to delete that last two posts. hit the wrong link. Actually people that are "Railfans" don't usually find anything better to do while thier bored if they enjoy watching and filming trains in thier local town.

  • I should ask athearn to produce these engines in HO Scale!

  • Well Precision Craft is coming out with a UP SW1500 I'm just not sure when. As far as the UP GP40-2 in HO I don't know of anyone who is in production for that one. I'll have to figure it out becuase I'm starting a layout based on this railroad.

  • Yeah I was surprised myself how hard they let those hit.

  • I'm from Southern CA. "Los Angeles" As long as we have flat land, don't have to use air brakes and there are"buffer cars/Heel cars" (One or more railroad cars with hand brakes) at the end of the track Its legal to cut cars of in motion! Its called "Kicking cars" Its just a bit faster way to switch than "push pull" Switching. Thats what I prefer anyways get to go home faster lol!!!

  • Thanks for posting i love watching trains uncouple and switch cars

  • the cars could be full of limestone to make cement

  • Grate vid.

If you dont mind me asking, is Ste. Genevieve located in "tornado ally?" I ask cuse this is the yard i wish to work at.
