Because there's never been an instance where two incredibly different things shared the same name.
Primus was also formed in the 80's. (The same decade Transformers were created, I might add.) If you're going to go around quoting songs at least get your facts straight.

lol, a cybertron figure thant turns into the actual cybertron, too bad they dont make optimus, rodimus, megatron, and galvatron minicon sized figures with the unicron for scale-is battles on the cybertron(who is primus) toy as a playset!

The figures would have to be the size of a pinhead for it to be in scale....
Even a minicon would be far too massive for a standard ship.
