Should've been ruled a knockdown there in the first minute, even if it was partially caused by a slip. Watt hit him with a right hook and Buchanan went down--that's a legitimate knockdown.
Buchanan was half-smirking at Watt during the intros. He obviously liked his chances going into this fight.

@MeltdownCity9, Watt is one of the most underrated British boxers of all time as far as I'm concerned. Buchanan is a definite top five for me (along with 'Kid' Lewis, Wilde, Lennox Lewis and Welsh) but Watt would make the low end of my top twenty.

blimey. I remember this so well (or rather, I don't! it's such a long time ago and I was about 10 at the time) Jim Watt had a very annoying loudmouth manager (can't recall the name) who I really wanted Buchanan to punch. Watt was a very good fighter and turned out better than lots of people thought he would, but Ken Buchanan was the real deal in every respect.

Jimmy Murray was jim watts real manager. Sure buchanan was the real deal, a league of his own but jim watt was still a scottish legend. Jimmy murray was a legend in our household, loudmouth? Quietest gut you'd ever meet but still a star. I like the 3 of them.
