that's great ... how did make this sync to music and get the spectral analysis in povray ? ... amazing !

Actually what I did was create a system in perl for doing exactly that: spectral analysis and frame syncing at an arbitrary rate (Audio::Analyzer on CPAN).

My Perl script used PovRay to do what I can't do in perl: 3d animation.
