  • The basic shrug pattern is to measure the widest part of your arm, then measure the width of your back. You'll then crochet a rectangle that is the same width as the width of your arm and then the length will be at least as wide as your back (the longer your shrug is, the longer the sleeves you'll have). Once you have the rectangle completed, measure the whole thing, mark off the middle section so it matches your back width, and then seam up the rest of the rectangle to make sleeves.
