The only cruise ship launching in the UK this year arrived in Southampton today (Sunday, 19th July) ahead of almost two weeks of celebrations.

The 2,850-guest, 122,000 GRT Celebrity Equinox from Celebrity Cruises has taken nearly two years to build at a cost of £700 million. The ship was built in Papenburg, Germany and arrived today in Southampton for her inaugural celebrations.

Celebrity Equinox is one of the first cruise ships to embrace renewable energy resources and the power generated by 61 onboard solar panels is enough to operate all the onboard lifts.

  • WamsWarrior

that makes no sense you douche!

  • true

atleast it isn't the cruise ship the world

she only has like 300 guest when a ship like her can have 1,800!!!! that ship is empty all the time

  • No.. Celebrity is a premium line, which means it needs to have less passengers. One of the things that makes the Equinox such a great ship is the space to passenger ratio.

  • Oh. I act like a blonde so I don't hardly understand much! Haha!

  • She's only 2,850 guest? The Monarch of the Seas is 2,744 guest. Celebrity need to get more passengers.

  • I hope so.

  • Oh ok now I get it!!!

  • what do you mean. they just joined together. royal caribbean has alittle bit of a say in celebrity's ideas
