Home Metal-Shop Tips 101: How To Bend Pipe is a short presentation of how to use a manual tube bender to bend steel tubing. This video was recorded by and features Mitchell Dillman, "the Online carpenter" http://logfurniturehowto.com/about

Sit back and enjoy this video as Mitchell fabricates a new mounting bracket for this borrowed bender and proceeds to bend a nice little radius into this 10' piece of 2" pipe.

So, what is it for?

What fascinating project is Mitchell working on that he needs this curved piece of pipe?

  • hey great stuff!

  • @SparkyWelder46 --- thank you for watching!

  • ok first off there is a huge difference between pipe and tube. Pipe is measured by inside diameter (ID) because things flow through it. Tube is measured by outside diameter (OD) this being said 1" pipe and 1" tube are totally different sizes. Second, the reason the "tube" twists is because the rollers need to be shimmed all the way to one side or the other. If the rollers are allowed to shift back and forth it will twist. Even with shims it still will twist slightly.

  • @regnar252 --- yep, you know it...thanks for all your help friend.

hope to see you again soon! =)

  • one major problem, the pipe is twisted so that one goes in the scrap pile, soz!!!

  • @JCB411abuser --- no so fast amigo...these get cut down to size for rockers, even with the twist they will work just fine...thanks for watching! =)

  • There is a book which will easily and quickly help anyone to bend any degree of angle from 0 to 180 degrees, with any size bender. All bends will be precise; a 37 degree bend will measure 37 degrees! All bends will look professional. Gain is easily understood for any bend with any size bender! Information about the easiest to understand workbook which can be used by anyone to become an accomplished conduit, tube or pipe bender can be found on a youtube website at /t04041951

Doblar la tubería es siempre un reto cuando se trabaja en una tienda pequeña casa. Y sí, haciendo de forma manual, con la mano, se toma un poco más y la energía, pero ¿has visto cuánto cuestan los dobladores hydralic? =)
