Hello,
It never ceases to amaze me how Barrack Obama's election was collectively willed by the world, and confirmed by the Americans. However, because of his popularity, expectation are high around the world. Any reflections on whether he will be able to meet the expectations of developing countries? And how he might go about overcoming barriers to these expectations?

Part II--(didn't have enough space above) The challenge, as you say, will be balancing rhetoric and making strides towards the visioning that gave us all hope, and the reality of the financial crisis, the energy crisis, the food crisis, ongoing conflicts globally, etc. Well, that's probably more than you wanted to hear and was all pretty obvious. So no earth shattering analysis, here. :-) Thanks for posing this critical question.

Good question. I hope that with maximum transparency and good communication, he can manage the nearly insurmountable burden of astronomically high expectations. My hope is that if he keeps folks informed of what he's doing, why, and what challenges he is facing, folks will adjust. I also hope, though, that he will push the boundaries and try his best to live up to the ideals he espoused throughout his candidacy, as it is these ideals that drew the ardour of the world and won him the elections.
