Wild mice are opportunistic omnivores, which means that they eat any plant life or small insects that they come across. Find out how baby mice, like all mammals, start by eating milk from their mothers with information from a science teacher in this free video on mice.

  • Why are so many people on youtube rude trolls?I mean even a video about mice is not safe from a bunch of fifteen year olds making rude comments.Sad,truly sad.I think Janice has a nice voice and does well on this.

  • I think that Janis has a good voice and comes across nicely. Well done!

  • Last spring here in las vegas, wild mice got into a store room for donated stuff and ate over 250 lbs of fresh fruitcake. gnawed thru the boxes and packaging and everything, like fuzzy little locus.

  • @Digiscat I agree. One of my 3 cats just brought back a baby mouse. I felt bad since it was still alive so I put it in my 10 gal. aquarium and put a box with straw in it and some newspaper shavings. I just put in a pretzel with peanut butter, hopefully it will eat it :/

  • @str8guerillaz I like them both actually..Lol..I suppose theyre annoying when theyre in your house, but mice are otherwise pretty nice.

  • I wonder why people thought mice liked cheese a long time ago?

  • If they are abandoned, nature picked them to die idiot. THIS is why they overpopulate all the time.

  • my cat was trying to eat my rat!!!!! but i cought him so he is ok now he is sooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!!!!! but im afrade to pick him up! <3333

  • so if i kill the mother the mice will die...thanks!!

  • Not just the crazy type. I saved a little rat---well let's say I am trying. Not that I don't know that the mother was the size of a possum, the skull alone the size of a small apple. But if you're a decent person, and you are faced with either trying to help feed it and release it, or kill it...well...there are the cross roads of life.

I can live with myself knowing I at least tried. However-killing it? No-just could not do that. It's more of a personal thing...unless there's karma!

  • Because dum-dum...some people find abandoned wild rat babies, and decide to try and help them live. Are you so dense that you can't put two and two together? Geeze! Why even take the time to type something lame?

  • He about had a fit yesterday when he found out that I saved a baby rat whose mother had been killed. The little thing was at death's door, and she was not going to just die on my watch. Yeah I know...they're gross, germy rodents. But to have found her squeeking out her last, with that sweet little face, and the complete vulnerability - it can change your mind.
