And it's also the ferret from the book/movie "The Golden Compass" though that one's full name is Pantalaimon. I think "pandemonium" makes far more sense for a ferret LOL

Oh and Pan's full name is "Pandamonium" - purposely misspelled because his colour is "Panda".

Here's what I've found really works:
1) never let them out until you've seen them go potty. Ferrets are like us - when they get up they gotta go. Put a litter box on the lower level of the cage so it's right there when they're headed out.
2) ferrets tend to play very hard then crash in a couple hours - less if it's cold out. Once they've gone off to snooze, gather them up and put them back in the cage. That way they're right by the litter box when they wake up.

wow, was it difficult? My ferret- pan ( I copied your ferrets name, I thought it was soo cute :) )
He used to use his litter box a little bit, but now he usually crawls under my bed and poops in the corner, and suggestions on how I could get him to stop?

By litter box training them. They all know to go to the cat boxes when they're out of the cage and they use the litterboxes when they're in the cage. I haven't picked up a stray poop in years.

when you let them run around, how do you get them to not poop all over your rooms? :)

Thanks! My house is a 1926 Craftsman and the prior owner did a few improvements including putting in that wood stove that he bought used from a neighbour. It's perfect around the cats and ferrets because they can't get burned or dirty. Though Percy did jump on TOP of it once when it was lit :-0!!! Thankfully I'd JUST lit it so it wasn't hot yet!
