@hurdofchris Of course science always changes, that's why it's so great. If it stayed the same, how could ever advance as a species? What was the point you're trying to make with this? I'm afraid it got lost in the discussion!

@hurdofchris I like how I didn't even mention God and people automatically assumed I was pro-theist. :)

@thaer12345 Sure we have "photographed" atoms, but even so, we do not even know what they really are. If you look at quantum theory, certain particles behave in different ways based on circumstances (sometimes on whether they are observed or not). If we merely observe these phenomena it changes their state. So in reality what we think we know about particles and atoms may be quite different from the truth. I'm just saying that science is always changing because it's not always right.

@hurdofchris Most people talk about god, assuming that time is not one of his creations.. e.g god waits to see your actions to forgive you.. Such things turn me to science for answers.. Ok, you can't explain these biology matters. But science is progressing in a logarithmic scale... It's a matter of 'time' for answers. And finally, think.. What do you expect from god? Paradise?

@Geoskl ...my opinion, takes more faith than most Christians have in God.

@Geoskl The methods of science are ingenious, but they are also somewhat flawed. There are a lot of assumptions that are made in the most fundamental areas of science that can be uprooted by a good thinker not consumed by biases towards it's theories. If you look at Biology and how certain mechanisms of even the most simple of organisms work, you will see that certain parts could not work or exist without other parts. To think that it all came together randomly in the same area of space, in...

@hurdofchris Take atomic theory again. It says that everything is made of atoms. We have tested, measured and even photographed atoms. What kind of new evidence could possibly emerge that disproves their existence? We've seen them! What "fact" could we learn that would show that the earth doesn't revolve around the sun?
A theory is the result of a plethora of observations, tests and evidence. The only way to disprove it is with another, even more solidly founded, theory. That's not easy to do.
-
@hurdofchris We might not be able to achieve absolute truth but we can be extremely certain of some things. In those cases, calling them true (like atomic theory, the theory that we are made of atoms) is a reasonable and widely accepted thing to do.
Could we be wrong about atomic theory? Of course! How likely is it that? Not very. That's the same situation with the Big Bang.
-
@thaer12345 ...there is to know. With this in mind, don't you think that there is more possibility that there may be any evidence out in the 99% that could disprove the theory. Remember, it only takes 1 fact to disprove a theory. That 1% of knowledge doesn't even account for the possibility of human error, which we all know is more common than the cold.
All biases aside, the biggest fallacy in this video is at 0:59 : "The answer was found..." This statement assumes the absolute truth of the Big Bang Theory. There is a reason it is called a theory. I find it interesting that many who follow the scientific method so fervently often dissolve it's primary objective through assumption and prideful stubbornness. Don't repeat history and jump on the bandwagon like everyone else. Think for yourself. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

@hurdofchris actually, if you think about it, there is more proof for The Big Bang than there is for God. I'm not bashing anyone at all, and I have tolerance for anyone's views, religious or non-religious. Just stating the facts here. Personally, I am agnostic and don't give a rip either way, unless there is concrete, beyond a shadow of a doubt proof for either one. I am just an open-minded individual and wish everyone else in this world was
