LIVE! Shiny Torchic after 626 SRs [Shiny Ruby Quest 6/6]

As you may know, the internal battery on my Ruby died during the hunt for Vulpix, my original 6th member, so I decided to SR for Torchic instead, just in case the RNG on Ruby had messed up. So far I haven't seen any RNG clones so I'm not sure what's happening with Ruby but for now, all 6 members have been collected and my Ruby Quest is ALMOST complete, I just need to face off against the pokemon white elite 4 (I transfered my other shinys into pokemon white already)

Is it true that you have to make a new file every 70 SRs or it'll start to repeat?

@birdscameflyingabove For Pokemon Emerald and Ruby/Sapphire with a dry internal battery, it is very complicated to hunt. Honestly I don't fully understand it myself but if you are hunting in those games (SPECIFICALLY for the starters, I really know nothing after that) then it is advised by most people to start a new file every 50-100 SRs. I took 70, a number in between. If you don't regularly refresh like this, then you'll come across clones of pokemon that will never be shiny.

I don't see how this actually completes the quest since it's on a new file, but it's an awesome live shiny so congrats!

I know it wasn't really the ideal way to go but it was the only thing I thought I could do:( I thought the RNG was on a loop and since I had done 20 hours of hunting between then and not found any shinys, I didn't think I ever could. I might try to do a FireRed shiny quest or Black shiny quest next, hopefully that will go better:D

congrats! i got my shiny torchic about a month ago and i finaly have a shiny version of my fav pokemon (blaziken) :D but personally i think torchic has the best shiny form out of its evolutions

@ListenToAnimalX cause when the internal battery dies on ruby it acts like emeralds rng which is 60 frames/second

@Johncena9491 Wow, I'm surprised to see how many times people soft-reset for shiny starters. I gave up on a shiny Piplup after about 100 soft-resets. XD

I'm trying to get a shiny Torchic in Emerald, but my friend says that Emerald works differently so I will just have to keep trying.

I have a question: Will it be harder to find a shiny by random encounters if the internal battery is dead? I'm trying to find a shiny Vulpix right now, and it isn't going well. XP

Kind of off topic, I found a shiny Zigzagoon in this same game about a month ago, after only about 20 RE's. XD

Here comes a Pokemon. . .Meditite. Male, not shiny. XP

Also, if you accidentally interact with a Pokemon while shiny-hunting, does the game reset itself?
