I really hope that if they do market this as a phone it will be less than the $400 dev edition and not in excess of $600 like other smart phones. I thought this thing was suppose to be a mp3 player and that's what i intend to use one as if i were to get it
And the rate of progress with their development of the 2 operating systems, implementation of features and bundled software is glacial and frankly pathetic.
One can now finally buy a media dock ($40 USD) and AV cable (video & stereo audio, $19) for a grand total of over $60 when you include S&H to output media from the Egg.
Of course, neither video nor especially audio actually works well enough to justify this expenditure yet, due to the OS firmware (both Plaszma and "optimized" Android) being very much in an alpha state, and with an almost complete lack of information coming from the company even to the developers who have purchased an Egg.
There is no way to purchase the proprietary media output adaptor they were using in your video, however. It was available only to those who pre-ordered the Egg (I haven't got one).
They did just finally release an updated firmware for Android 1.6 after 4 months of no updates... and it's still basically not ready for prime time.
i saw the zii egg advert a while back and it looked really good and i was totally drawn in by the use of android, i didn't know you could get hdmi out, i might purchase one...
i love the british zii :D xD

The hardware is very nice.
The software and SDK is by no means mature yet.
The company's support is virtually non-existant.

I have a ZiiEGG developer edition.
It does indeed have an HD camera.
