Bradley Thomas (Greg Kinnear), homem agradável dono de café, tem como principal hobby a pintura. Infeliz no amor, em seu primeiro casamento, foi trocado por uma lésbica, já em seu segundo, por um homem. Morgan Freeman (Harry Scott) interpreta um professor de filosofia amigo de Thomas.
