@Ataxicabdriver the second amendment is most important amendment in the constitution because if it goes all our other rights go with it

@JimTL1000R well if you have no means to fight back the gov't can do whatever it wants to you and will never leave you alone. why should they?because they know there is nothing you can do to stop them.

Question: If SCOTUS rules the Chicago ban can stand because the constitution doesn't apply outside of D.C., can we stop paying income tax; since the 16th amendment should therefore also only apply to D.C.? LOL

No right to keep and bear bear arms?
Imagine a country where every decent citizen couldn't own a gun, and every violent member of a gang had guns. We'd need more police to control crime. Just the possibility that a citizen may be armed, is reason for a thug to think twice before whipping out that gun.
Without the 2nd amendment, we'd be a the mercy of thugs, and even worse, a repressive totalitarian government, run by inept self serving bureaucrats.
I'll keep my guns, and I'll bear them.

Congrats !
The fact our 2nd amendment was even held in question is a scary thing.

" A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. "
States, independent of the federal Gov. can have a militia. Individuals, independent of the state and federal gov. can keep and bear arms.
My understanding of the 2nd amendment.
