Hear Budgerigars in their natural habitat - the dry, inland of Australia.

Nesting in ancient, gnarled eucalypts by an ephemeral waterhole, Budgies can be heard calling as they socialise and fly off to feed. Nearby, prolifically flowering eremophila bushes attract Spiney-cheeked Honeyeaters, with their lovely wheazy calls.

Also to be heard are a great variety of desert birdlife, including occasional groups of Cockatiels as they wing overhead, Red-backed Kingfishers, Galahs, Magpie Larks, Mulga Parrots, Spotted Bowerbirds, tiny Diamond Doves, and delicately-coloured Pink Cockatoos.

A subtle and beautiful recording from the home of the wild Budgerigar.

@aCrystalBirdie i know they would die. id never let them go or something. but they have wings to fly, they are birds that belong to our beautiful nature,you know...they werent born to be stuck inside cages all the time..thats why i bought parakeets,to try to save them from loneliness by leaving the cage open and not clipping their wings do they can do whatever they want

@thaishostin No, your parakeets were captive bred. Even if you returned them there they would die because they wouldn't know how to find food. They're used to getting food daily -- they're best living with you.

Bella and Gizmo are the happiest budgies ever right now! They just become so alive and active--and they aren't active birds. :) Its like magic. I love it!

My budgie just recently lost it's mate :( to cheer her up a little I played this. My dog went nuts lmao. It kept wanting to watch the speakers.

The budgie (Sky) loved it. She has become very attached to me since Blue died.
