"The Longest Time" (A Capella) (Billy Joel)

Audio only. I've seen a lot of vocal groups do this song so I decided to give it a try. But I couldn't find someone to sing with so I decided to do it all by myself. This one's my version of Billy Joel's "The Longest Time" sang a capella- meaning no instruments were used to guide me- just vocals- all of which I did myself just like Billy Joel did. This one's my tribute to Doo Wop music which I'm a big fan of. Enjoy!

It is a nice song isn't it? funny u mentioned about trying this song with ur friends ... i too attempted to do this song with some folks i knew- first, with the guys from the choir, then second, with the guys from the band- but 4 some reason, we never get it to sound right on both occasions... out of frustration, i ended up doing it all by myself LOL. I'm glad to know you guys liked it despite of the sound quality. The kind words mean a lot to me. Thanks for listening & God bless!

thanks for the kind words. the sound quality didn't end up the way I would have wanted as there was something wrong with the recording software i was using at the time. as a result, i had to manually add my voice in layers in analog... i think i over did it a bit but it was a good learning experience. i'll make a better recording of this song in the near future once i find the time. get a better mic and this'd be really good. and all the original voices were just Joel singing it a bunch of different times and stacking 'em, so way to keep it true to the original

This is great. FYI - Billy did not have his crew on back-up for this song - it was all him, recorded on different tracks and speeds and played together.

First off before a little critisism. You sound great and you are obviously very talented. The sound quality really is spoiling it. You are also singing a tad slow, speed it up just a little and most of all belt it out some more with feeling.
