  • Who here can find there way around the massey site???

I google everything i needa find from the massey site coz I can't find anything and I can't be f'd learning my way round the site!

  • @jmister22 Hi, It's true it is a bit of a monster. It's one of New Zealand's oldest and largest but we have culled about 70,000 pages in the last two years and there is an ongoing project to simplify and improve it. If you have website feedback or find errors please send it to contact@massey.ac.nz and they'll get it sorted.

  • This is the biggest load I've ever heard! "Really keen to be in touch with all the students" yeah right! where was Steve's enthusiasm to keep in touch when it was decided to enforce the free bus rules (I don't know any students who received a letter or anything letting them know they'd need money for the bus in semester two!) and when did Massey decide to shaft the domestic students about summer school...oh thats right 47mins before students where informed!

  • @04AJD88 Hi, We are not aware of any change to the free bus service - it is still free for all internal students and staff on the Manawatu campus who have a valid ID card. Be interested to know what has changed for you?

  • hey steve, its been a amazing journey so far at massey. kudos to the campus people who have all supported us at massey. As an international student it has been an amazing journey so far. one thing probably, would really i wish would have highlighted more was a practical exposure of students coming in an specfied area of their studies.

  • @godmustbcrazy1 Good idea, any thoughts on what area we could do something on?

  • I sat one of Craig's papers and it is the best paper which I have sat so far. I work out in the business arena; and I found Craig's teaching to be incredibly constructive, and I have consequently been successful in my undertakings as a result of what I learnt. I found the online learning environment to be good fun; and have missed the paper's format and chatroom since.

  • I sat one of Craig's papers. It is the best paper I have sat at Massey. I'm out in the business world and the lessons I learnt from Craig have been incredibly constuctive in my working life. The way he delivered the paper made the learning experience a fun time to be had; and I have missed the online learning environment, and the ability to use the paper's chatroom, since. Other papers I have sat since then, although good, have been a little bit of a letdown in comparison.

  • C'MON GUYS! Yeah the deadline for summer school enrolments cut was a big shock.. But guess what? I've been enroled since March. I'm aware that there are others that have a good excuse for not enroling, but there are just too many last minutes people out there. This is one lesson that you should learn from, not be so damn bitter about! Lay off Massey, cos who are you really mad at? And besides, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all! I'm thankful we have Massey at all!

  • Thanks Angie for your support for summer school/contact courses and hand on learning, traditional learning rather than all this extramural and online stuff thats been shoved down our throats!

  • every course has a coordinator. now, wht we could do is specfic too a course we collectively decide on what subject one wants to know about the indsutry exposure. Then plan up the whole idea around the subject and visit the industry. Based on practically, get the assignment coming it. only for the sake of learning. A lot of fun to the students along with the counterparts also would happen by that. In terms of HR, i would say more of a foccused group rather then the clubs.

  • I did the 'e-learning for teaching' paper run by Ben Kehrwald in semester one (just gone)... it was exceptional. The way stream is utilised in this paper really leads the way - fantastic!!
