Kayla's P.O.V.

I hadn't heard from Nick the morning I woke up for my interview, I don't know what was going on with him, but I had bigger things to worry about. Gydel had her interview yesterday and she killed it! I'm so excited for her, because I wouldn't want to stay in New York without any friends. She already started looking into cool apartments and lofts that we could share, but if I don't get this job what am I going to do when shes off at her performing arts school?
Looking at my resume, I'm not very impressive. Sure I've traveled the world, spent countless hours meeting famous people, and hung out and the greatest Hollywood parties, but I only studied up to the eight grade. I'm not even eighteen yet, just because I can write a couple short script pieces doesn't mean I deserve a job at a major news paper. But really when has that ever stopped me? I drove cross country for a boy I had met once, one that hasn't returned my phone calls...but that's not the point! I can do anything! I can go and get this job! I can do it!
What the hell is wrong with you? Gydel walks next to me in the mirror and I realize I just gave my whole entire rant out loud.
Oh, Um. Yeah. I give her a smile.
You dork. I escape and go to put my suit on. I don't look too bad, sure it's not some leggings and jeans, but I guess it will just have to do. I grabbed my notebook and threw it in my Louis Vuitton.
Okay I'm outa here! I scream to Gydel not knowing where she is. Momentarily, she pops up running towards me to give me a big bear hug. We collapse into giggles on the floor as she tacks me down. Dude I really have to go! She gives me a cheesey smile and a thumbs up and I head out the door giggling.
I take deep breath as I walk back out of the office I was just interviewed in. Surprisingly, everything went super well. When I got there, the secretary at the desk took my name, and told me I was early and that was a good sign with a little wink. I was glad to see people were looking out for me. Sam didn't ask anything about school, he only asked about how I've traveled and the experiences I've had. He said he was looking for someone to do an around the world fiction column and I told him I would be all over that. It wasn't scary, it was calm. Almost like I wasn't really being interviewed, but I was just talking to someone. I feel really confident right now. I stop across the street to my building and get a vanilla latte smiling at the people who have seen me there everyday now.
I sip and walk and eventually the February air starts to get to me. I head back to the Plaza so I can warm up and maybe hang out with Gydel today. I slide my room key to open the door and find a surprise that wasn't here when I left.
We need to talk.
