Cornell figures that if he calls out the President in the public arena, BO will listen? Again, if this man thinks that Barack Obama would come this far and not help the people who brought him here, I really gave him too much credit. I don't know what part about, "I'm giving him 4 years" that's so confusing. Everyone who is complaining now where the same ones who said, "It's going to take him @ least 4yrs. to get things back to normal." After 16 months, "did he forget about us?"

  • @whiteliberal1 I am not saying that he cannot lead a movement as a matter of fact he is leading a movement, just in a different arena. Dr. King took it to the streets as did Malcolm and Garvey. But Dr. West is an academic, he goes on speaking tours and that's his audience. I don't know how effective it would be if Dr. West did more, there are only so many people that he can reach out to beyond academia and we both know there are few of us in college to begin with. Maybe thats part of the problem

  • @skiluv88 "Inform the Black Masses"? What did MLK Jr. do? This doesn't answer why Cornell West himself can't do more. Marches, protest, etc., was the way Dr. King imformed the Masses. That's the problem. No one has a specific job. We all have to be held accountable!

Again, I'm giving the POTUS 4 years!

  • @whiteliberal1 During the 60's the marches were organized primarily by religious and social leaders, not academics. West is a professor whose job in the grand scheme of things is to inform the Black masses. It's the same for every other race and all other societies for the most part.
