  • FIRST PLAY I EVER SAW ..... @ LAWRENCE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL @ INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA ... LOVED IT ... STUDENTS FROM IUPUI PERFORMED IT... GREAT ALL BLACK PLAY.. I THINK ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUNGTERS NEED TO SEE THIS ONCE ....

  • First performed in 1935 this was groundbreaking in a social context. It is still relevant today for a lot of people (of all colors) who work but still have plenty of nothing when all is said and done. 77 years later why do some make much while others make nothing? I think that is a question Gershwin would ask today.

  • I just love this song:

    "I've got plenty of nothingggggg"

  • @marxmith You gotta be kidding---I refute all three--as do millions of others. ITs a masterpiece.

  • The revival will be on Broadway by the end of the year with my love Audra McDonald.

  • This is a rough musical to sit through. It's too long, the characters aren't interesting, and the music just isn't that great.

  • Most underrated musical. We need a revival.

  • HA HA HA HA I WAS A WEE CHORUS GIRL IN THOSE DAYS HA HA HA HA MIXING MY CAKE A LONG TIME AGO.
