  • The good the bad and the ugly of the dj business.

One of my first Gigs in my area was 50 dollars for 4 hours. It was a private Party of 120 people. Now we all can do the math 50/4 =12.50 . WHAT does this person knows how good I AM NOPE how much money I spent on gear NOPE how my sound will knock their socks

off NOPE. So here is what I did. I used this to my advantage. I asked the client if I can have a small booth with cards, flyers, and promo offers... She agreed to do this since of the price

  • @Djsilverodoet that is exactly what I mean. You sometimes have to prove yourself to get more work and that really never changes.

  • Alright..i'm gonna first start by saying.. I've been a subscriber of yours for a while now.

My opinion on the video: turn down the back ground music. It got annoying after the first 2 mins. The Juxtaposition of the graphic was distracting me from listening to the content. Back ground images are cool if they are stationary.

My opinion on the content: Great info! Do a lot more of these videos. People appreciate straight forward advice and content. Especially if they are just starting out.

  • @sirkurtis Thanks for the input!!!

  • Long story short her guest dance the night away. Had a blast.. She actually paid me 200 dollars instead of the 50 cause her guest had such a good time and had 20 people like me on facebook. Most importantly I booked 3 gigs from the one party so lets do some more math. The gigs I booked range from 350 to 500 and all this came from a little 50 dollar gig. .Now I am not saying all gigs will be like this but the client does not know how good you are or sometimes what you have

  • ..So the party started at 12 o'clock i was there at 10 setting up now I could have gave her a basic 2 - 12 speaker system but decided to give her a little more bang for her buck so I gave her instead 2-12 Peavey with a dual 18 yamaha sub for sound. For lights 2 Martin lx5 Revo 4 2 jellyfish was a day event so didn't care for fog. A small 32 inch tv for floor video. on a 5 ft truss. So as you can imagine a good setup. She was surprised how neat and professional everything was...

  • Great video. One thing I am seeing is a lot of venue are making sure your insured through some company. Of course if your not then you cannot play at the venue lose a gig to another dj . I am quite sure this is happening all over..Bars and Pub are usually fine with you showing up.. but the hotel are getting real sticky on liability insurance...

    Any feedback
