Impressive, if brief, display of Nat's piano chops, which usually got upstaged by his singing.

re: the speed up when recorded, didyaknow that Les Pauls
"how High The Moon" was also sped up?
Only reason I know is Buddy Fite, ( Portland Oregon, now deceased ) learned to play guitar not knowing this and did it perfectly.

Poor Harry Connick would bust two fingers if he tried this....

NatCole! He was quite a pianist.I knew he sang but holy cow, what a pianist!

No drummer...amazing... this shows you that you need a drummer to lay out a canvas of rhythmn...not keep timing

@JazzcatSings Also, much of the music, when originally released was slightly sped up by 1/4 to 1/2 tone. The Mosaic 18 CD release has all the songs pitch corrected so you hear them exactly the way they were played in the studio.

@JazzcatSings I feel fortunate that people upload rare things. I've never uploaded anything. I need to learn how to do it. The Mosaic 18 CD collection of the Nat King Cole Trio won a Grammy for (I think) best historical release. All Mosaic's released are limited as to how many they will print and release. They made 10,000 box sets of this set. You should find it. I'm a drummer and this is some of my favorite music and over 95% of it has no drummer playing.

@DrumTchr So tell me, are you going to supply the better copy to upload?? Hmmmm??? I wouldn't mind hearing a remastered, clean copy but jeez, people upload what they have. Personally I feel fortunate that they do.

I love and miss you grandpa Oscar. I think about you everyday!

Nat was a piano virtuoso, like tatum and Oscar Peterson. Insanely talented musician.
