@gilesahrun No, this game uses an older version of the Amusement Makers / Seihou engine.
@sjoecool1991 And yes, CAVE games, on average, are still quite far ahead of this game in terms of difficulty, although Seihou Banshiryuu C74 comes pretty close, particularly at the end of the Extra Stage.
BTW I bet Shinki designed the SMD-00X.

No. Dodonpachi Daioujou is waaay harder than this.
So is Mushihime-Sama Futari.

looks like a mixture of the final boss bullet paterns are like the gradius bosses and the touhou bosses and this game is more harder than the cave shooters huh

Kinda noobish question, but is there any way to change keyboard controls (did check options but only for gamepads there, and mine's broken).
It's kinda annoying since I can only move forward when shooting and using the shield, and even worse, if I'm moving left/right/diagonal and press the shield button it won't activate since I'm already pressing too many buttons.

@IvanSensei88 Unfortunately, from what I can see in the config file, there isn't a way to change keyboard controls. :(

@SFKhoa Thanks for the quick response. It's a pity though.. this sounds like a minor problem but... in a game like this it can be a matter of life and death XD

@IvanSensei88 I'm guessing your keyboard is pretty old if it can't handle certain keys at the same time. I usually play w/ a gamepad so I've never dealt with that issue. Sorry I can't help much though. :/

Haha. It's somehow harder on my computer, but when I played at my friend's house, I got to the first phase of the second form of that boss. It was just kind of overwhelming X_X As for playing it at my house... well I can't even beat the second boss. Looks like I have a lot of practice to do. lol. Good luck on beating that record =D
