Meet Fred, One Step Away from Poverty

Fred went to college and served his country in the military. But at 66, he's spent over a decade without the essentials of basic living. Thanks to his local senior center, he has a safe haven—a place where he can get one meal a day, help finding benefits, and an escape from isolation. Senior centers are funded through the Older Americans Act (OAA). Fred's story is one reason we're asking Congress to protect and strengthen the OAA.
