THATS BESSIE SMITH ON THAT PHOTO
-
If it is, I'm sorry !
I have so many women in my Life !
The music is most important, I think and I don't know the outlook of Ma Rainey, cause you can't look at her on a record !
Thanks for the comment and listening !
Peace.

@blackrainbowz77 I was going to say the same thing! And it`s a very nice photo of her indeed!

@KojiRecords You are so right ! It's a photo of Bessie, but I couldn't find a photo of Ma, so without knowing, I just took it from the Internet. You know, you can't see a face on a 78:rpm record. I'm sorry !
I'll try to re-post the video, with the "Queen" Ma Rainey.
Until then,
Thanks for a very good comment and listening.
Peace.

Why is a photo of Bessie Smith posted when the recording is her mentor, Ma Rainey? I remember this Bessie Smith photo here was used to promote her then new releases, which the masters were lost and are unable to be issued now, "Chirping The Blues" and "I Just Want A Daddy (I Can Call My Own)." Please re-post with a photo of the wonderful Ma Rainey; thanks.
Fine, I'm not knocking a good 12 bar blues... just saying this is not the song from the major motion picture SON OF KONG. Different song. Undoubtedly different composer too. CHEERS (or beers..)

I say : Cheers ( or Beers )

This is NOT the 'Runaway Blues' song that appears in the major motion picture 'SON OF KONG'....as the IMDB claims. It's just a 12 bar blues.

@Kramnosnits Yes, its just a 12 bar Blues, but that's good enough to me !
Thanks for the comment and listening !
PEACE !

Does anyone have the lyrics to this song?
Please, please, please, if you do, give them to me : (

@Reesesgurl1994 Hi Desi !
Sorry to say, I have not the lyrics, but I have an advice. Listen carefully and pick up what you understand.
Then you fill in what is missing, by your own words.
OK, that's what happened in the old days. One copied a record/song by listening. That's why the Bluesmen and Women seldom wanted to record, cause, perhaps somebody else "stole" their repertoir !
Good Luck !
Peace !
