BTW 70% of people (as stated by the MD in this video) are NOT candidates for parital knee replacements, not unless they will be happy to have additional surgery when they develop arthritis and pain in the remaining portions of the knee. IMO

You was told wrong. The bone will actually be stronger because of all the extra weight it has been carrying - Wolff's Law. The biggest risk in obese people is patellofemoral pain from a portion of the knee not treated by a unicompartmental arthroplasty
