2 13 MVA Pikesville March 21 2009

Shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday March 21, Baltimore County, MD units to a reported motor vehicle crash with entrapment at the intersection of Reisterstown Road and Old Court Road (Rescue Box 2-13) in Pikesville. BCoFD Engine 2 (Pikesville career) arrived and found a Ford Focus car had struck a light pole in front of the Remax store, with one patient seriously injured. Firefighters from Engine 2 and Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Squad 322 removed the victim from the auto and treated her on the scene with BCoFD Medic 14, EMS 5 and Car 601 (BCoFD Medical Director), requesting a Maryland State Police helicopter for medevac due to her Priority 1 condition. MSP Trooper 1 landed at the nearby Druid Ridge Cemetery and the patient was flown to Baltimore's Shock Trauma center. Also on scene were PVFC Utility 329 and BCoFD Engine 19 (Garrison career) who handled the Landing Zone.
