EDIT: beaten on 28/02/11 by 'waterspider' with 8.75. Far more style then this, congrats :)

My first video ever! It was intended as a test video for personal use - to get acquainted with video capture/coding/editing, sound editing and how YouTube upload works. I'm pretty happy how it worked out, so decided to share it. Hope you enjoy it :)

Game is "Live for Speed", an online racing simulator developed by three people. One programmer (Scawen Roberts), one designer (Eric Bailey ) and one sound/web guy (Victor van Vlaardingen). It is still under development so that they can make it as realistic as possible.
Check http://www.lfs.net/ for more info.

This is part of a multiplayer replay recorded back in May 2008 using LFS S2 test patch Y20, but the video was made using test patch Z20 that was released few days ago.
Don't remember who discovered this 'bug' but it didn't take very long to make a small competition out of it :D. Basically, the distance is determined by the white lines across the track that mark the BL1r (Blackwood GP Reverse) starting grid. Best result is when the car makes a perfect first contact with the track and continues to roll smoothly.
I got inspired to make this video from another replay that I recorded recently. I'll make a video out of it too, in which you'll see some practical use of this jump :D

Video capture: Fraps, version 2.9.99 (unregistered)
Link: http://www.fraps.com/
Video coding: VirtualDub, version 1.9.7 (freeware)
Link: http://www.virtualdub.org/
Video editing: Win XP Movie Maker, tweaked so it can output custom resolution, FPS, bitrate, key frames (tweak not needed in Vista & above). Check this site: http://www.papajohn.org/MM2-SavingMovies-CustomProfiles.html for more info on how to do that.
Song: Spiderbait - Ghost Riders In The Sky (Ghost Rider Soundtrack)
