Sedimentary Rocks 7-Part6 •Calcium carbonate Coral •Coral gardens •Destruction of coral reefs •Underwater algae contributors to calcium carbonate, lime mud •Classification of Organic (Limestones) •Sedimentary rock as an intrusion or dyke
There's actually a classical mistake in this segment about how limestone is deposited from solution to form stalagmites and stalactites. It isn't because some of the water evaporates, it's because some of the CO2 in the water comes out of solution, which reduces the ability of the water to hold dissolved limestone, forcing it out of solution.
@indianasbones That's just an AV desync, it happens a lot when you do a capture from video tape using consumer-grade equipment. It used to be particularly troublesome when using ATI Radeon cards with built-in video capture (largely because they mostly don't have built-in sound capture), although that has been corrected in recent years on most models. This series was made in English in Canada in 1976.
I love that we can see what he's talking about. All we have in lecture is our teacher. This really helped. Thank you! And it's interesting

So far I've seen 7 of the 22 programs and plan to watch two more over the weekend.Even though it is slightly dated, they're still fun to watch.
