http://vault.ncaa.com/ On March 19, 1966, Texas Western College, now known as the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), put an all-black starting five on the floor for the first time in an NCAA basketball championship. That night the Texas Western Miners, led by coach Don Haskins with star players David Lattin and Bobby Joe Hill, defeated coach Adolph Rupp's #1 ranked all-white Kentucky Wildcats, 72-65.

  • @Pulsuhundur It really is. I could not imagine what those people went thru. Racism is a sad sad disease that hold humanity back. To hate someone that is just like you accept for skin color blows my mind. How can people feel this way? Its sad that I have seen more racism on youtube than on any other sight. I just dont see how racist people can even look there selfs in the mirror without being ashamed. Alot of progress has been made but there is still a LONG WAY TO GO

  • @PBBK98 So while this game really did change views of black athletes by white schools and any number of other good things, Glory Road uses fiction when dealing with how they portrayed Kentucky which has had many negative effects to the university. Dont base history off of hollywood movies. I cant stand racist so someone painting a non racist person as racist it fires me up. I attend UK and hate seeing this kind lie tarnish a great university and city

  • @PBBK98 To bad Glory Road is not all true, its based on the true story but about 50 of the movie is false and dramatized. Rupp was NOT racist. He was the first SEC coach to sign a black player. Also Duke was segregated at the time. When this game happened there was nothing made of the black white thing until many years later. Haskins made it about race by himself. He also told his players he heard UK players calling them Ni**ers which was an admitted lie by him

  • Glory Road is just amazing! that coach, and his players.... AMAZING!! 10 of 10 points!!
