@musicgenius33 Didn't a lot of artists from Tin Pan Alley to Hip Hop have the same issues? It's a shady business. As Aretha Franklin once pointed out: at least Motown was giving their artists a chance for a long career by forcing the singers to learn standards and show tunes, not to mention access to national TV....which was everything in the 60s and 70s.
