if you watch the vid the Hogue rep. says it's A2 steel.
the gerber isn't even close to this knife.

@enjoythewildUSA relatively similar is the Gerber LMF II which you can get for around $60
I'm not sure of the blade steel on this one but i'm sure we will get my details later on.

Been meaning to get something similar for awhile now, I will definitely have to look at Hogue. The prices seeme pretty reasonable to me.
