This method combines attributes of two well known methods to tie the Alpine Butterfly Knot.
One common method begins by WRAPPING the rope twice around the palm of your hand. Another recognized method places two TWISTS in a bight of rope.
The Hybrid Method employs ONE wrap and ONE twist instead, resulting in an efficient and user friendly way of tying the Alpine Butterfly. Climbers, cavers, boaters, SAR personnel, riggers and professional workers will appreciate it's virtues, which include speed, ease of "eye loop" sizing, the ability to tie with gloves or mitts on (or with cold fingers) and in the dark, and maintaining better control of your rope.
Excellent demo. Best method ever for this knot. Thanks for posting this.

Best method I have seen. As much fun as my favorite method for the Zeppelin Bend.

Simple, quick, and loop length options--what's not to love? This is my favorite method by far.

I like how you can determine the length of the loop easier than the other methods. Thanks!
