I think Mort was having more fun writing, I think he cut this to show Fabian how it should really sound. Who knows why it wasn't promoted.

Shuman was better known as a songwriter, usually writing with Doc Pomus. I knew for many years that the songwriting credits for one of Billy J. Kramer & the Dakotas' hits was Shuman with someone else not named Pomus and had wondered if it were Mort Shuman. I finally found out a few years ago that it was.
