First of all, this is an incredible piece, very nice job! Secondly, I just want to thank you for making this video, as I recently acquired access to SD2, and have just been at a loss for where to start in attempting to create that big, epic film score sound, and this video has been more helpful than anything else. Thank you!

Incredible! Nice to see you using Cubase as well, because that's the sequencer I use and I was considering investing in a couple of VSTs from EWQL after selling off a load of old equipment, and this is one of them.

@alexpfefferdotnet ... while on the percussion side I would always prefer SD2 over Superior!
Hey Alex,
First I must congratulate you on doing such a remarkable job with this song! In fact, it is what made me go out and get Stormdrum 2. I was particularly impressed by the "Old Skool Neve" kit and the "Black Kit". However, After installing Stormdrum 2 and playing those samples, I discovered that they sounded a bit different from how they sounded in your song. I now assume that you used effects. Could you just tell me what you did in particular to each track to make them sound so nice?

@PRIORITY60 Thanks a lot! Generally I never used any "special" fx, just some compression and EQ. Sometimes I notched away from frequencies, got rid of some bass or raised some high freqs. However on the Old Skool Neve kit I used one filter inside PLAY. Cheers and hope this helps! Alex

Thanks for the advice! You and your video convinced me to buy SD2, just love that action-movie style percussion and it'd add so much POWER to my tracks. How do you use SD2? Is it like superior where you can play the midi notes on your midi keyboard and drag samples into it or are there patches/loops?

@orwell9788 Sorry for making you spending money, .. but you will not regret it :)
Basically it is multisamples which can be triggered via MIDI controller. No need to drag around. However there are also lots of MIDI loops available which you can import into the sequencer.
