Sick Chicken - Mold Intoxication - Drunk Behavior

The is Miracle. Our 7 week old little Wheaton Marans Rooster who .(according to the Vet) ate something moldy, which made him Very sick. As a result, he exhibited "Drunk" behavior, was unable to stand, and had a hard time eating and drinking. We separated him from the rest of the flock, and fed him Boiled/Scrambled eggs and cooked Butternut Squash along with Gatorade with a bit of added sugar. After nearly 3 days, we finally saw improvement. He was able to stand, although still Very wobbly. And was eating, and drinking on his own. It was heart-Breaking to see him struggling so stay alive, but he is putting up a solid fight, and as long as he doesn't give up, we won't either. We love him Dearly...

xWhiteCandyx - I'm so sorry for you! I live in Alaska. We have eagles, bears, wolves, coyotes, lynx, wolverine, owls, & much more. Luckily I haven't lost a single bird to a wild predator (with the exception of one, whom we lost to a neighbor's dog!). I have my own 2 large dogs guarding my flock of 50+, but my heart goes out to you for your loss.... (I did almost loose a hen to a Bald Eagle once, but my BCM Rooster (Rusty) jumped on the Baldy's back & managed to save his girl!)

@AndThenThereWasAmy - Thank you. He made a Full recovery and is growing nicely. He went to a new home where he is spoiled rotten. (Seriously!) His new owner made him a carseat, so he can go with her everywhere she goes!!! :)
