  • so cute!!

  • Easily, without question, the best triple lutz I have ever seen. Better than Liz Manley, Midori Ito, Yuna Kim, etc etc just gorgeous

  • @pooguy77 I don't think Malinina deserved that high of scores (although 3rd place in the LP is correct). All of her Triples were in the first half of the program; very frontloaded. I would have marked the LP's as:

    1. Butyrskaya 5.8/5.8

    2. Kwan 5.5/5.8

    3. Malinina 5.6/5.6

    4. Gusmeroli 5.4/5.7

    5. Soldatova 5.6/5.5

    6. Hughes - 5.5/5.5

    7. Rechnio - 5.4/5.5

  • I also loved this program!!! Her jumps truly are possibly the best, highest quality I've ever seen. Her Lutz is simply stunning! Her technique can only be described as sharp as a razor blade!!!

I loved this 99 worlds! It was great to see so many skaters rise up and do so well... both Malina and Butyrskaya had the skates of their lives here!!!

  • We miss you, Tatiana.

    An Armenian fan from Amsterdam.

  • OK I agree.

  • Yes, however for Malinina to get such high tech marks as Butyrksaya with only 5 Triples and a (double axle-double axle sequence) compared to Maria's 7 Triples proved that the judges did appreciate and give her credit for having the best jumps in terms of quality out of all the skaters. That's what I meant.

  • Well Maria had 1 5.9, five 5.8s, three 5.7s technical

Malinina had seven 5.8s, two 5.7s

It isnt really accurate to say Maria's technical marks were not as high. They were the same.

  • shes my skating coach... -corr

  • Controversial 5/4 Split between her and Michelle for the Silver Medal. Couldn't get the bronze unless, Gusmeroli or Rechino had finish ahead of sloppy Soldatova but lower than Malinina.

So yeah.... She was so close to being World Silver Medalist!

But one good thing is that the judges awarded her for having the best triples out of ALL the ladies, hence why Butyrskaya tech marks weren't even as high as Malinina who only had 5 triples compare to 7.
