I read the chapter in The Botany of Desire about Apples for class and thought it was incredibly interesting while entertaining me enough to give one of my friends the chapter print out.
During class another student says, "that was a great read, what other plants does he write about"
the teacher replies "potatoes, lima beans, and... cannabis"
Right then and there I perked up. I felt lucky such a great writer choose one of his topics to be cannabis.
There was a guy from University of Wisconin Madison who did his masters thesis on how drugs affected historical figures and histroy and they wouldn't let him graduate until he changed a lot of. It's talked about in the Journal Reason.
