Just before Dr. Fuhrman's Health Getaway 2010. We took a trip to La Jolla and played on the beach for a bit. The seals seam to hang out with the humans here. The park ranger, Randy, was very friendly and helpful in explaining how "not" to interact with the seals and how it causes them stress, especially pregnant seals.

If the seals are coming onto this beach they are not feeling stressed. Unfortunately Randy knows nothing about this beach. The seals should not be here. This beach was designed to be a Public park; not a seal tank. The residents are sick of smelling seal feces every day. Of course noone else cares, they can leave when the smell gets too bad.

As long as you let them come to you, you can interact with them. Randy is just a puppet of the activists.
