@ignobl1 i have a heavy(ish) ring 8.4 but even she moves like a beast with the twin optimax 225s with 34 cleaver props... i love my twins !!!

@freespeachrulez yes but there is a huge gap on age you must factor that in and the fact we don't spend half as much on 2 stroke dev. then 4 stroke dev.

@minibikerider1 While there is some truth to what you are saying, my 1967 evinrude 60hp is almost 30 pounds heavier than a 60hp evinrude today.

this is so dumb I hate the new outboards they are anchors thanks to the EPA as soon as 1973 rolled around outboard motors have sucked to little power for the weight and these 300 xs have been just beat by a 500 hp outboard
