@kosm dude gums have nerves, bone ligament which holds teeth upper lower has nerves. Possible you developed another infection if it swell abnormally. Other than that it might be inflamed gums. My suggestion run to dentist. Never want to wait with things like that. It only gets worse if you wait

i had an abscess and went on 2 different antibiotics and ended up in the hospital for 3 days, if there is pain and swelling see a doctor asap, cuz now i have to deal with a picc line.

I had a root canal a year ago with a permanent crown put on after. Last week my gum started swelling and causing horrible pain. I thought my tooth had no nerve. How is this possible?

yes its good for pain but it makes the pain dull or go for a bit but it does nothing else, it did work better for me than benzocaine which is in most products for painful teeth
