On 12 February, the Robert Hunter and Farley Mowat engaged a whale-spotting vessel, the Kaiko Maru.

Operation Leviathan was a campaign by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to physically intervene with Japanese pirate whaling operations in the Southern Ocean. Sea Shepherd brought two ships, the Farley Mowat and the Robert Hunter (previously codenamed "Leviathan"), over 60 international volunteer crewmembers, a helicopter ("Kookaburra"), and fast Zodiac inflatable boats. The whalers murder quota for the winter of early 2007 altogether consists of up to a thousand Minke, fin and humpback whales, but it is unlikely that any more whales will be killed this season, due to a recent devastating fire aboard the Nisshin Maru.

  • Sea shepherd are REAL heroes of the world. SHAME on governments for not sending in their navies to stop the illegal horrors of the monstrous Japanese

  • The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is a non-profit, marine conservation organization based in Friday Harbor, Washington in the United States. The group uses direct action tactics to protect sealife. Sea Shepherd currently operates the vessels MY Steve Irwin, the Bob Barker, and the MV Gojira, and most of the group's recent activities take place in international waters. The group has a strong focus on public relations to spread their message via the media.

    sea shepherd is the best

  • @hollandiadj, as of now, Sea Shepherd has two ships. The M/Y Steve Irwin, and the M/V Bob Barker.

  • @zingtea, apparently, the Farley Mowat was sold. You forgot the M/V Bob Barker.

  • Do you affirm that principles or opinions are appealed by violence? If so, Al-Qaeda of 911 cannot be denounced. It becomes a double standard.

  • Sorry for double posting, but I have tried everything to get him to understand. He thinks that ramming them does not do anything. He thinks butyric acid is pointless. Can anyone help is convincing him that they do do something?
