In the summer of 2008 Tamron presented its first 18-200mm lens with unprecedented 15x zoom. In its groundbreaking review Dpreview recognized it as a excellent achievement. Its main strengths were - according to Dpreview - the weight and compactness.
What would Dpreview say now? Tamron has come with the updated version of the old 18-250 mm. The new model is considerably lighter, smaller and employs faster autofocus motor. We have yet to wait for Dpreview`s opinion about it. Meanwhile - let`s see what Ardo-Jako has to say about it:

  • English please?

  • The Final Verdict would be: Lightweight and compact, yet - fast and precise autofocus, excellent Vibration Compensation, nice bokeh in long range focus. Nice and smooth handling - zoom ring and focusing ring work smoothly and quietly. Good color reproduction and sharpness. All-in-all exceeded all my expectations, a perfect lens to have on a daily base use, traveling and even for an enthusiast who has purchased prime zoom or fixed focusing lenses.

  • Non-PZD is a better lens in terms of sharpness, contrast and overall resolution. I owned both and returned PZD back losing 10% of restocking fee as a result.

  • still sharp altought in 270mm

  • lol, he loses the lens cap at 0:08 a guy takes it up at 0:10 and gives it back at 0:27 lol

  • @candidatef CC works u know

  • Why are the best reviews always foreign and not english? lol. Thanks for this amazing review, everything else I have read and watched hasn't shown me what I wanted to show, but this video covered all bases and now I am set and happy to buy the Tamron 18-270mm PZD lens for my Sony Alpha A65 :)

  • @abbateesta Most reviews I have read have made the lens creep out to be a major flaw, but you saw it in this video, he had to pretty much jolt the camera hard to get it to happen. It is only a problem if you walk around with your camera around your shoulder or do a lot of photography that requires you to hold the camera facing down or up, but most of the time your hand will be on the lens anyway, making adjustments so you will prevent the lens creep. Just engage the lens lock and you'll be fine.

  • Very usefull!!!

  • What about the lens creep ? Is that ok, then I 'll buy it.

  • @candidatef click on two small "cc" and you will get English subtitle ;)

  • thank you, i now got it ;) great review, i think im gonna buy this objective.
